That morning, a woman in a wheelchair and her husband, who was pushing the wheelchair up an escalator, lost their balance and fell on a 76-year-old female passenger below. The passenger died from her injuries approximately eight hours later. The store where the incident occurred had an elevator, as well as signs warning against using strollers and wheelchairs on the escalator. The incident is under investigation.
