CONDO SKYSCRAPER AT NYC’S CENTRAL PARK NEARLY COMPLETE

Just shy of supertall status at 950 ft., the 70-story 220 Central Park South in Midtown New York City (NYC) is nearly complete, with New York YIMBY reporting its limestone cladding is almost entirely in place. While neighbors such as Central Park Tower will loom over it, the Robert A.M. Stern-designed building still has a lot to offer. It will contain 116 condominiums, ground-level retail and an impressive list of amenities including a fitness center, a library, meeting rooms and second-floor terrace. A 14-story annex will include 13 large residences expected to fetch a hefty fee. Vornado Realty Trust is the developer, and SLCE is the architect of record. Completion is anticipated this year.

CITY OF SYDNEY APPROVES PERMIT FOR 50-STORY, MIXED-USE TOWER

Sydney officials have approved a permit for a plan by Dexus Property Group and Perth billionaire Stan Perron for a 50-story tower at 201-217 Elizabeth Street in the central business district containing a hotel, retail and residences, The Urban Developer reports. The approval is contingent on a competition-design process and the inclusion of public art. Located on the edge of Hyde Park, the tower would join 10 other new projects nearby as the area continues to bustle with activity, despite concern over a slowdown in sales to overseas buyers.
